Gunpowder Falls State Park is one of Maryland’s largest and most dispersed, for it consists of about 17,000 acres of river valley and adjacent uplands spread all over northern and eastern Baltimore County, from tide water to the Pennsylvania border. This trail runs along both banks of a section of the Gunpowder River between Bel Air Road and I-95 and has little elevation gain. The large towering trees provide refuge from the surrounding urban setting and shade on hot sunny days. The close proximity to Perry Hall and the Baltimore Beltway make this a perfect getaway for a quick ride.
