This route combines the Gunpowder South Trail with three other trails to make two large loops through this beautiful wilderness and also includes and out-and-back to the Pretty Boy Dam. The hike has several ascents but none of them are really long and steep. The most difficult climb is to the top of the dam but this section can be excluded easily. The trees, flowers, river, and views on this hike are stunning.
