Herring Run Park is a narrow strip of greenery along the Herring Run and is set within a very residential area. This trail begins by circling Lake Montebello, an old city reservoir constructed in the 1800s and receiving water from the Gunpowder and Susquehanna Rivers. You will then follow the Herring Run Trail through the trees and along the river. Because of the urban setting, you will pass dense rows of houses, cross several streets, and only briefly feel as though you have escaped from civilization. The trail ends abruptly just as you pass the Starline Industries.
