This trail leaves from Herrington Manor State Park, rides through the thick forest and the Allegheny Mountains of Garrett State Forest, and ends in Swallow Falls State Park. Most of the trail is easily navigable on old logging roads and part of the trail is singletrack and rocky. A short section runs alongside a beautiful stream with hemlocks and rhododendron. As you finish in Swallow Falls State Park, be sure to park your bike and take a short hike to the three beautiful waterfalls, one of which is the highest waterfall in Maryland. This short hike is mapped and named “Three Waterfalls.”
