This is a short and strenuous hike up an overgrown gravel road to the tower site and high rock ledges on Savage Mountain. The trail maintains a relentless 10 percent grade; however, the payoff is huge. When you get to the tower, pass it on the left and follow a well-worn path through sticker bushes to the west-facing ledges. To the south, you can see the wind turbines along the summit ridge of Eagle Rock and to the north the view is limitless.
