Lake Habeeb is the focal point of Rocky Gap State Park and is a 243-acre artificial lake. Around this lake are where most of the activities occur at Rocky Gap with two sandy beaches, staffed with lifeguards and served by bathhouses, washrooms, and food concessions. There are several forest trails in the park as well. This trail is fairly easy as it circles the lake’s edge for a 5 mile circuit all around. Hills are minimal and the trail has some rocky footing. Beautiful scenery is provided on this hike by the lake, plant diversity including mountain laurel, and wildlife, especially white-tailed deer.
