This is a beautiful Creekside hike into a very remote, wild stream valley filled with hardwoods and hemlocks and is located in the Savage River State Forest. Wildlife is abundant and you are as likely to see a black bear as another person. There are twenty-two stream crossings, some on bridges and many by rock hopping. The trail is well-shaded with a heavy canopy overhead. The canyon becomes very narrow at times and the river eventually splits, creating small isolated islands. This is a great place for primitive camping and there are several beautiful isolated camping spots in the canyon.
