This trip is located in Garrett County, Maryland’s highest and westernmost county. You will ride through its forested Allegheny Mountain slopes over many hills and through a very rural area. Beginning in New Germany State Park, you will journey along the National Pike across the Casselman River Bridge into Grantsville, and then follow the Casselman River south, looping back to the park. The roads are paved, lightly-traveled country roads over very hilly terrain. The scenery on this ride is absolutely breathtaking, especially the colorful foliage in fall.
