Oxford is a quiet and beautiful small town and is considered one of the oldest towns in Maryland. You will first paddle south along the Oxford waterfront then turn around and head north to explore the Tred Avon River and many side streams and coves, including Trippe Creek and Goldsborough Creek. As you explore these waters and the rural surrounding landscape, expect to see wildlife, including mammals, fish, and birds, especially raptors. There are miles of shoreline and coves with nice beaches and places to stop and rest. Take caution as there is heavy boat traffic, including a ferry channel to be crossed.
