This hike is located in Gunpowder Falls State Park, one of Maryland’s largest and most dispersed, for it consists of about 17,000 acres of river valley and adjacent uplands spread all over northern and eastern Baltimore County, from tide water to the Pennsylvania border. This hike combines the Ma & Pa Trail on the north side of the river with the Little Gunpowder Trail on the south side of the river to create a great circuit hike along old rail beds through the thick forest. Tall trees, wildflowers, and great river views with a couple short climbs make this hike.
