Located in Savage Park, this hike is surprisingly serene despite its location in the dense suburbs and sandwiched between I-95 and US 1. You will notice traffic noise for some of the hike but it provides a quick escape into the woods despite its proximity to the Baltimore-Washington Corridor. This is a short ramble along the Middle Patuxent River to its confluence with the Little Patuxent River, then upstream, with a return via an abandoned quarry road. Most of this route follows the streams closely allowing for lovely water views. There are also two good vantage points with great views.
