This trip explores tidal estuaries and the open Chesapeake Bay as you begin on the Rhode River, paddle along the beach and Beverly Beach Park, visit Mayo Beach, and paddling coves on the West River before returning. You are likely to see ospreys and many other shore birds on this trip as well as water snakes at Mayo Beach. This route is very exposed to the wind, water conditions of the Chesapeake Bay, as well as having lots of boat traffic.
