The St. Mary’s River State Park shows a wide range of habitats, from wooded acres and fields to swamps and small streams. There is a great diversity of plants and animals species to be found. This trail circles the lake providing great water views. The woods provide beautiful scenery but an especially scenic part of the trail is by the river. Bridges aid in river crossings. The trail is well-marked and well-traveled by hikers, bikers, and equestrians.
