Sugarloaf Mountain is an isolated mountain that rises about 700 feet above the rest of the surrounding countryside. The mountain itself is made of quartzite and has been less susceptible to weathering. The terrain is steep and rocky and though the trails are well-marked and maintained, the ride can be rather strenuous. The views on this route are phenomenal and stretch for miles. The rock structures, trees, wildflowers, and wildlife are also a real treat. This route makes a wide loop around the mountain with many ups and downs and some rocky sections. Be sure to stay on the Yellow Trail as it is the only trail in the park that permits bikes.
