Palms Book State Park is the site of Michigan's largest freshwater spring, Kitch-iti-kipi. A short walk leads to an observation area at the spring that offers great views of the clear emerald water below. The park also offers an observation raft connected to cables that floats out in the spring and provides a closer look. The trail is very short and paved making it easily accessible. The springs are accessible by snowshoeing or cross-country skiing from the main road into the spring.
