The Superior Hiking Trail has been touted as one of the best hiking trails in America. In all is over 270 miles long and follows a rocky ridgeline on Minnesota's North Shore along Lake Superior. This part of the trail features great BWCA forest views and Brule River (at the end of the path, a short walk from parking lot). The forest that the path runs through is full of birch, aspen, pine, fir, and cedar. Wildlife in the area include moose, deer, bald eagles and wolves. Be apprised that if you bring a dog it must be kept on a leash.
