The upper sections of the Black River is very clean and clear. There are several creeks and streams that are constantly adding fresh water. There are several shut-ins along the way, which add to the beautiful scenery. Anglers will find smallmouth bass at this section of the river. The put-in is at Lesterville Access. If the water is low, boats may need to be carried 1/3 mile. Your take-out is at the Route K Bridge which is the last access above Clearwater Lake.
