This section of the river is less challenging than the northern section. The northern section has several rapids to travel through. There are large boulders scattered throughout the river so this can only be run during high water periods. Once your reach Sam A. Baker State Park, the water becomes slower. The put-in for this adventure is at the Coldwater Access and the take-out is at Sam A. Baker State Park. This is right after Big Creek enters the river.
