At roughly 100 acres and located within Lincoln, Nebraska, Holmes Lake has been transformed into a public recreation area. The lake itself is fairly open, allowing room for open water paddling. Parking could be limited during busy hours but has an attached boat ramp for more convenience. Other activities in the vicinity include fishing, picnicking, hiking, and biking. There is also a neighboring golf course. Only non-motorized vessels are allowed on the water.
