Located on the north-west edge of Omaha, Standing Bear Lake is surrounded by a healthy line of trees which helps seclude it from the city nearby. Although not a large water body, it's still big enough for roughly four miles of shoreline. Other activities in the vicinity include picnicking, fishing, hiking, and biking. Longer than it is wide, it continues to provide sufficient area for open water paddling. There is lakeside parking with a boat ramp attached for easy access.
