Located on the north-west edge of Omaha, Standing Bear Lake is surrounded by a healthy line of trees which helps seclude it from the city nearby. Although not a large water body, it's still big enough for roughly four miles of shoreline. The pathway along the lake is paved, fairly flat, and stretches about 3/4 the way around through well-vegetated areas. The only way to travel completely around the lake is to merge onto 144th street. Other activities include picnicking, boating, and fishing. Due to the levelness of the trail, it's suitable for all skill levels.
