Located in the city of Papillion, just south of Omaha, lies the Walnut Creek Lake Recreation Area. It is a large, well-established park offering activities such as hiking, biking, camping, picnicking, fishing and of course, boating. The lake is well accessible with plenty of parking and a boat ramp attached. Being so close to the big city of Omaha, it could sometimes be well occupied during peak hours. Although part of a city park, the lake is of considerable size, and with the open landscape, there are good lakeside views.
