Galveston Island is a barrier island on the Gulf Coast of Texas, just 50 miles southeast of Houston. A state park on the island offers excellent amenities near the water including campsite options on both the bay side and beach side. The Bayside Campground consists of two loops, one for tent-only campers and another loop for RVs and trailers. The RV sites include electric hookups. Additional amenities include water, picnic tables, fire pits, picnic pavilions, and restrooms with showers. The cost per site is $15-$20 per night. Reservations are available and can be made online.
