Known as the Grand Canyon of Texas, Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the country and offers amazing scenery and abundant opportunity for outdoor recreation. The park offers over 30 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The state park also offers a variety of camping areas for overnight visitors. The Cactus Campground consists of 7 sites that can accommodate tents only and are equipped with shade shelters, picnic tables, and fire rings. There is water available in the area but not at each site. There also restrooms with showers nearby. The sites in this camping area are $16 per night and can be reserved online.
