Known as the Grand Canyon of Texas, Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the country and offers amazing scenery and abundant opportunity for outdoor recreation. The park offers over 30 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The state park also offers a variety of camping areas for overnight visitors. The Fortress Cliff Campground consists of 17 sites that can accommodate tents only and are equipped with shade shelters, picnic tables, and fire rings. Water is not available at each site but is available in the camping area. There are also restrooms, showers and a dump station within close proximity that can be used. The sites in this camping area are $16 per night and can be reserved online.
