This route is used by the local YMCA in McKinney for an annual 5k race and circles around a reservoir and neighborhoods, passing through the park, making this a pleasant and peaceful place to get out and run. The official distance of 5 kilometers actually finishes about 100 meters before you reach back to the starting point, if you take the route indicated. This route has a few short climbs, adding to the difficulty of the adventure.
