This section of the Shenandoah Appalachian Trail begins at Beagle Gap and crosses through the Calf Mountain Meadows before ascending to the ridge line. After crossing through forests and over peaks, take a brief detour near Calf Mountain for a summit view. As the trail descends, it parallels Skyline Drive before intersecting with SF Moormans River Road. Keeping straight through this intersection, the Appalachian Trail will bring hikers over several more peaks and ridge overlooks before arriving back on Skyline Drive.
