Though less popular than the trails directly off the Skyline Drive, the Buck Hollow Loop offers unique scenery and an elevation gain of nearly 2,000 ft. Beginning from VA 211, turn right where the trail splits and head upward on the Buck Hollow Trail, which follows the valley all the way to the Skyline Drive. Turn left onto the Hazel Mountain Trail, and immediately left again onto the Buck Ridge Trail. Follow this along the ridge line and get some views to the south as the trail snakes back to the parking area.
