This rugged and beautiful day hike on the Appalachian Trail follows the ridgeline that parallels Skyline Drive. First ascending Bald Face Mountain, one of the highest points in Shenandoah, and later reaching The Point overlook, this trail offers many gorgeous views for its brief length. After going over Lewis Mountain, the trail eventually approaches the rocky summit of Bearfence Mountain, which offers uninterrupted views for miles in all directions. Descending from the peak, cross Skyline Drive and arrive at the second parking area.
