This lengthy day hike follows the trail to the summit of Little Schloss, then continues along the ridge line past a mountaintop meadow and the Little Sluice Mountain Trail. Descending into the valley, the trail reaches a four-way intersection. Veer left, and come to Sugar Knob before tracing the base of Mill Mountain. Following this valley path, the trail will eventually intersect with the mountain pass road. Take a left along the trail that parallels the road, and this trail will take numerous switchbacks all the way back to the parking area. This loop hike is strenuous and long, but adventurers will find the views and plentiful wildlife rewarding.
