This short section of the Shenandoah Appalachian Trail follows the ridgeline roughly parallel to Skyline Drive. Beginning on the Frazier Discover Trail, follow the switchbacks up to the overlook for views of Loft Mountain and Massanutten in the distance. The path then departs northward on the Appalachian trail that follows the spine of the Shenandoah, passing the Ivy Creek Overlook, and eventually arriving at Pinefield gap for beautiful views of the surrounding area.
