Beginning from the Mason Neck State Park Visitor Center, this easy loop first follows the Belmont Bay Trail along wooden bridges that offer views of the water. After curving inland slightly, the trail makes a sharp right onto the Wilson Spring Trail, which turns into the Kanes Creek Trail after crossing the park road. Numerous species of estuarial birds may be seen, as well as muskrat, beaver, wild turkey, and eastern painted turtles on this jaunt through the coastal forests of Mason Neck.
