This trail follows the road until veering right on the Big Schloss Cutoff Trail, which switchbacks up the side of the mountain until it reaches the ridge line. Turning right onto the Mill Mountain Trail, the path follows the spine of the mountain for many miles, offering several peaks and views along the Virginia/West Virginia border, passing by the summit of Mill Mountain. Making a hard right towards Sugar Knob, and another hard right at Sugar Knob cabin, the trail will follow the valley all the way back to the parking area.
