This section of the Shenandoah Appalachian Trail follows the AT alongside Skyline Drive as it departs from Sawmill Run. Enjoy the views provided by the path along the ridge line, and watch for the Turk Mountain Trail that splits off to the left. After a brief detour up to the summit of Turk Mountain, head back to continue along the Appalachian Trail. Crossing Skyline Drive, continue following the AT as it hugs the spine of the mountains on its way towards the Riprap Overlook.
