This brief loop around Sherando Lake allows walkers, runners, and hikers to explore the beauty of one of George Washington National Forest’s largest recreation areas. Beginning on the Cliff Trail, which switchbacks up the side of the hill from the parking area, the path will lead through wooded groves and offer views of the lake. Intersecting with the Lakeside Trail, the path will cut a wide swath to the southern tip of the lake and eventually hug the edge of the water back to the parking area.
