Beginning from the Signal Knob parking area just off VA 678, this route to the summit of Signal Knob begins by following the Bear Wallow Trail up the edge of the thickly wooded Massanutten Mountains, with ample opportunities for views of Foggy Top and Massanutten Peak to the south. Eventually, this wide-cut path will become the Tuscarora Trail and pass by the Strasburg Reservoir (for any tired hikers looking for a beautiful lakeside picnic) and eventually turns onto the Massanutten Trail. With Meneka Peak to the south and the blue ridges of Strasburg to the west, this trail offers beautiful views all the way to the summit of Signal Knob. Taking the Signal Knob Trail will bring adventurers back to the parking area, with a brief stop-off at the Buzzard’s Rock Overlook for more stunning vistas.
