The Platte River parallels the Grant just a few miles east in the unglaciated southwestern corner of the state. It meanders past high bluffs, dramatic rock formations, woods, and pastureland. Pleasant riffles are frequent on this stretch and the river is small, clear, and peaceful. The scenery is wonderful and includes a rusty old truss bridge in addition to the beautiful tall bluffs.
