This route to the flat-topped summit of Bivouac Peak begins by following the eastern shore of Leigh Lake and then the western shore of Moran Bay in Jackson Lake. From the most western point of the lake, the route begins up the beautiful and wild Moran Canyon and turns northwest just before fully entering the canyon. This route follows the East Couloir, the main large couloir leading from the summit to Moran Bay. Access to the couloir can be granted by climbing on the left of a large chockstone until you can traverse right into the couloir. Stay in the left branch as you scramble to the summit. This route is not recommended in late season.
