Climbing Routes

This is a new crag in the Jackson area that has a nice cave with several three star 5.12’s. Cueva de la Cabra is in its development stage with some loose holds on most routes but follow the chalk marks and there is some fun overhanging lines. Steep is the name of the game here with great pockets and jugs that seem to appear out of nowhere. Don’t let the loose rock scare you it just takes a few more people climbing the routes and they will clean up nicely. The approach is steep and a little tricky to find so I added a picture to show you where it starts. You can park ¾ of a mile past the Lunch Box Counter/Big Kahuna parking area, on the South side of the road. Walk back up the highway on the trail next to the railing. Do not walk on the highway. On the North side of the road you will see where the concrete barrier ends and the trail starts just 20 feet ahead at the small pine tree. The trail goes straight up from here with a few switchbacks and a rope that will help you get up the last gully.
