Gray Reef Reservoir is located on the North Platte River and is used for regulating water supply. Water levels on the lake can fluctuate daily from full to almost empty so possible paddling time on the lake can vary. Canoes can access the lake from the campground area. Due to the fluctuating water levels fish are not stocked in the reservoir but just downstream from the dam there is a fishing pier and boat ramp for access to the North Platte River.
