This large reservoir is a designated state park that offers miles of shoreline for paddling. The Long Canyon boat ramp is one of four boat ramps available on the lake. The launch is located on the north side of the lake in Long Cove where paddlers can explore the cove and then travel out into the main channel and continue paddling for many miles. Paddlers may have to cross areas of open waters so paying attention to other boats on the lake as well as rough waters is important. The state park also offers other recreational activities to include camping, picnicing, hiking, swimming, and fishing.
