North Platte River is located at the base of the Snowy Range Mountains and is a scenic relaxing float. The river offers solitude, great and lots of opportunity for wildlife viewing and birdwatching. This particular section of the river travels through a Bald Eagle area before entering the outlying boundaries of Casper. The North Platte River travels through both public lands as well as private lands so colored signs have been posted at river access sites letting paddlers know if the access site is public or private.
