This section of the North Platte River runs through Edness K. Wilkins State Park which is known best for great birdwatching. The diverse habitats located within the park create a perfect setting for a variety of bird species as well as other wildlife. The park is a day-use area that also consists of small ponds, a fishing pier, hiking trails, and picnic areas.
