This route is an out-and-back from Buffalo Bill's historic lodge, Pahaska Tepee. The lodge is situated near the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park at the foot of majestic Cody Peak. In the winter, the road is closed west of the lodge. The route follows a trail between the road and the river for a segment and then uses the closed road for the remainder of the route. This is a climb out and thus a fun descent on the return.
