Running through the city of Casper at the foothills of Casper Mountain, the Platte River Parkway is a paved rail trail. The route follows the North Platte River from North Casper Sportsplex to Paradise Valley Park and then back along the same route. The scenery is beautiful along the river with the mountain as a backdrop to the south. The trail is built upon the abandoned Chicago and Northwestern Rail line.
