The largest planar surface in the Wind River Range, Ram Flat is between Ross Lakes and the Divide. This route to the top of the flat is up Crystal Lake Couloir and is technically challenging. There are other route to the top of the flat that are not technical, including the north slope and the south ridge. This is a long hike in beginning along Whiskey Mountain Trail and then alongside Ross Lakes to Crystal Lake and then up the couloir. This same route could be skied, with also a few other run options down to Crystal Lake from Ram Flat.
