Rockchuck Peak in the Teton Range is easily accessible from String Lake. This route along the eastern slopes provides a beautiful climb to the top of the peak with huckleberries along the route in the summer. To begin, the route heads west from String Lake up through the east couloir of Rockchuck Peak until it steepens and then angles to the left to follow the upper portion of the east ridge. The ridge then leads to the summit. There is some scrambling on the climb. The summit has beautiful views of Jenny Lake and Leigh Lake, as well into Hanging Canyon to the northwest.
