Part of the Torrey Creek cirques in the Wind River Mountains, Spider Peak is named because of the first climbers being impressed by the number of large spiders they saw. This route ascends the East Buttress of the peak. This buttress rises from Turquoise Lake and has three 5th-class pitches and then easier terrain to reach the summit.
