This route up Symmetry Spire, between Hanging Canyon and Cascade Canyon, follows a straightforward course up the southwest couloir. The route begins at Jenny Lake and hikes to the base of the spire. The route follows the couloir in its entirety. A stream drains the couloir, where somewhat deep snow resides most of the summer. The lower section of the couloir is loose rubble, while the upper portion has snow most of the time. In late season, the snow can be bypassed by ledges on the left.
