At the Amsden Trailhead on the Tongue River this may appear to be a popular hike, but the main attraction of the area seems to be the Tongue River Cave which is only .75 miles away. The hike along the river itself can be a rewarding adventure for those interested in exploring some canyon country. This is also a great fishing area. Due to the length and altitude gain of this hike it is recommended to be an overnighter.
